Sunset Ridge

School District 29

Construction Phase
Construction on the new Sunset Ridge School will officially begin on April 12, 2016 with a "Groundbreaking Ceremony" held at 5:00 p.m. The entire community is invited. Click here for more information regarding the groundbreaking ceremony.
Protective construction fencing will be installed on the property on April 18, 2016 and actual construction will begin that week. During the entire construction project (expected to last for 18-months), pedestrian and bicycle access to the Sunset Ridge School property will be limited. See the attached map for information about the limited access to the District 29 property during the construction project. Construction should not impact vehicular access to the property.
Construction will begin with digging a "retention pond" on the eastern section of the property. Dirt excavated from this pond will be utilized to regrade the site and elevate the building pad for the new school. Dirt will also be temporarily stockpiled on the northern section of the property for later use in the construction project.
After regrading of the site, crews are expected to begin digging for the foundation, of the installing site utilities. This work is expected to continue through the summer of 2016.
