Back to School News for 2017-2018
September 5th is the first day classes for the 2017-18 school year. It is a full day for 1st-3rd grade students; kindergartners will be dismissed at 10:30 a.m. The day begins at 8:30 a.m. for all. For complete Back-to-School information, check the Parent section of the D29 website in early August. The District 29 Back-to-School Information Pack will be mailed to families on August 7th. Parents may access the Class Lists through the D29 homepage on August 11th.

2017-18 School Supply Lists

Middlefork Summer Hours
Middlefork's summer office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.  
September 7 and 11 Second Cup of Coffee Meetings w/Dr. Greene
Join Dr. Greene in the Middlefork lobby for an informal discussion about Middlefork and District 29 programs, procedures, and history. These meetings (6:45 p.m. on September 7 and 9:15 a.m. on September 11) are especially helpful to parents who are new to Middlefork and District 29.  
Kindergarten and New Student Registration Information
Kindergarten registration for the 2017-18 school year began on January 18, 2017. Click here for registration instructions, including the link to the online enrollment form. Then click on Read More to download the additional required forms. If you are newly registering a student in grades 1-3, the link to the enrollment form is  https://goo.gl/forms/lrdlNrCdlfh6PHYr2 and download the required forms from the registration section of the D29 website (under the Parents tab). 
Before and After Care Programs
Click on read more to learn more about the partnership between Wesley Child Care Center of Glenview and District 29 and to download registration information for the on-site After School Care Program for K-6 students at Middlefork School. For information about the Park District's before school recreation program, as well as their new after-care programming, check the Northfield Park District website. 
Practices Regarding Food Brought into the Middlefork Classroom

10/5 Ice Cream Social for New Families
The PTO invites all families new to D29 to an ice cream social at Clarkson Park. The festivities run from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, 10/5. 
Register for Middlefork Chess!
We are delighted to continue the partnership between Middlefork School and GM Chess Academy this year. Chess class meets Friday mornings from 7:30-8:25 in the  Middlefork cafeteria, beginning September 15. Click on the title above to download the registration form for fee and schedule information.  
9/28 Curriculum Night
2nd-3rd grades meet at 7:00 p.m. Kindergarten and 1st grades meet at 8:00 p.m. Please come early to meet our support staff in the main lobby and also to take care of your PTO dues.   
Kindergarten Dismissal Schedule
Kindergarten dismissal is at 10:30 on the first day of school. Thereafter, students are dismissed at 11:50. Beginning September 25, dismissal moves to 12:50 p.m. and student remain at school for lunch. The final change to 1:50 p.m. dismissal occurs on Monday, October 16. Please note that dismissal reverts to 11:50 a.m. again for one day, on Tuesday, October 31.
