MIDDLEFORK SCHOOL NEWS

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IS AUGUST 28, 2019:

We look forward to welcoming back students on August 28, 2019. The first day of school is a full day for 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. Kindergartners attend for two hours on August 28 and then begin the gradual extension from 3 to 4 to 5 hour days on August 29.

MIDDLEFORK OFFICE HOURS: Due to the renovations going on at Middlefork this summer, Dr. Greene and Mrs. Draka are working out of Sunset Ridge School (7:30-3:30, Monday - Thursday). Phone and email contact information is unchanged.

 BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION DRIVE
continues at Middlefork School thanks to your contributions and the coordinated efforts of parent volunteers Trish Andrew and Steve Tomlinson. So please don’t stop clipping and sending Boxtops in! They adorn hundreds of products, a list of which can be viewed at https://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/participating-products

2019-20 KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION - NEW PROCEDURES: Registration has begun! All children should be five years of age by September 1, 2019, to be eligible for the 2019-2020 school year. The registration process begins with residency verification, which includes three different forms of documentation, as well as a copy of one's homeowner's or renter's insurance. This is true for ALL families, including those with older students presently registered in District 29. Additionally, parents or guardians of each prospective kindergarten student must provide the child's birth certificate (the school will make and retain a copy). Specific directions for the residency verification can be found under the Parent tab of this website. Lastly, the registration evening is for parents and guardians; the prospective student need not be present. Early enrollment figures are critical to staffing plans for the upcoming school year, so we appreciate everyone spreading the word and registering in January!

CELL PHONES IN THE DRIVEWAY: Drivers should cease using their cell phones during pick-up or drop-off time, when students are present on the sidewalk. We understand that some people arrive early, but once the students appear, the potential for distraction makes cell phone usage unsafe. Thank you for putting down your phones while there are children on the sidewalk!
